Description

This delicate silk sleeping bag for babies and toddlers is made of pure silk. The sleeping bag is ideal for warm summer nights. Silk has an extremely pleasant wearing comfort and is particularly suitable for sensitive skin. Due to its temperature balancing effect, silk cools the child’s body when it is hot and warms it when it gets cooler at night. In addition, silk can absorb an above-average amount of moisture without the fabric feeling damp. The little ones are therefore optimally protected and sleep at a comfortable temperature. More about the advantages under: Material information silk.

The baby silk sleeping bag has a side zipper, underwear protection and buttons made of mother-of-pearl. Nothing can get stuck due to the underwear protection and it also ensures that the little ones don’t get any pressure points from the zipper. The fabric consists of 100% undyed organic silk and was sewn in a Berlin studio with a lot of love and care.

Depending on the temperature you can wonderfully combine the silk sleeping bag with a long or short pyjama/body. If it is very warm, the little ones don’t need to wear anything else – because pure silk is a blessing for the children’s skin.

A silk sleeping bag is the perfect summer companion at home, but it is also very practical for trips to warm regions. Silk has an extremely low weight and does not take up any space in your luggage. Also wonderful for hiking or cycling tours with young children, because the silk sleeping bag serves as a hut sleeping bag for babies and small children.

In addition to its function as a summer sleeping bag, a silk sleeping bag can also be used as a so-called “second skin” for newborns. Depending on the temperature, the little ones wear only a diaper and a body in the bag and can thus feel themselves and especially their legs optimally. The bag offers a slight resistance during movements and reminds of the life in the belly. In the cooler seasons, a blanket can simply be pucked around the silk sleeping bag. In cooperation with midwife Jule Tilgner from the blog Hebamme Zauberschön, the concept of wrapping newborns in a silk sleeping bag was developed because silk is so soft and delicate and clings to the child’s skin like no other fabric.

Even if it is not organic silk, the silk used is only boiled after weaving and does not receive any additional chemical treatment.

Care instructions

Detergent:
Always use a pH-neutral and liquid silk detergent or mild detergent. Please make sure that no alkaline detergent is used, as this will damage the silk in the long run. Hair shampoos or wool shampoos are also unsuitable, as they usually contain greasing components and the silk loses its shine as a result. A teaspoon of vinegar (wine vinegar) cares for the silk after washing. When the silk appears dull simply add a dash of vinegar to the cold water and rinse the sleeping bag with it.

Temperature:
Normally, the washing temperature of silk is 30° C. In case of heavy soiling, however, it can also be washed at 60° C.

Hand wash:
Soak the silk sleeping bag for 3-5 minutes and wash carefully. Do not spin or wring in the washing machine afterwards, as wet silk is very sensitive.

Machine wash:
Wash the silk sleeping bag in a very gentle washing cycle in a laundry bag without spinning.

Drying:
Dry while lying down. You can put the sleeping bag on a towel, roll it up and carefully squeeze it out. Then unwind and dry lying down. Do not place on the heater or in direct sunlight.

Ironing:
If necessary, iron silk from the left side in a humid state at low heat.

Wash with similar colours. Do not dry in a tumble dryer. Do not bleach.

Sizes
The sleeping bags are available in four sizes: 55cm, 75cm, 95cm and 115cm. The information is in centimetres (no ready-made size) and refers to the complete length of the sleeping bag. If you would like to know which size is suitable for your child, then simply measure out your own sleeping bag or take the length from the shoulders to the feet of your child and add approx. 10cm of room to move.
