A baby blanket made of fine silk jersey. The blanket is stretchy and is therefore perfect as a puck blanket. The silk jersey is made of 100% undyed organic silk and is heavier than classic silk due to the way it is made. The silk blanket was sewn in a Berlin studio with a lot of love and care.
The blanket can be used from birth to swaddle the little babies into it. Later it will be perfect as a cuddly blanket. You can always take it with you due to its low weight and the small amount of space it takes up. Silk has a very pleasant wearing comfort and is especially suitable for sensitive skin. Due to its temperature balancing effect, silk cools the body when it is hot and warms it when it gets cooler at night. In addition, silk can absorb an above-average amount of moisture without the fabric feeling damp. The little ones are therefore optimally protected and sleep at a comfortable temperature. The organic silk production plants are GOTS certified. Ecological and social principles are very important in the production process. The mulberry trees are cultivated in sustainable mixed cultivation and no pesticides or artificial fertilizers are used. The silkworms are not given antibiotics or growth-promoting hormones and the silk is processed without metal salts or harmful chemicals. The working conditions and salaries in production are socially and fairly designed. Compliance with the standards is guaranteed by regular inspections by the certification body.
The addition of Peace Silk means that the silk fibres are unwound from empty cocoons. Either the silkworms complete their transformation into butterflies and slip out of the cocoon or the cocoon is cut open and the silkworm transformed into a pupa is removed. Only then the cocoons are processed.
Always use a pH-neutral and liquid silk detergent or mild detergent. Please make sure that no alkaline detergent is used, as this will damage the silk in the long run. Hair shampoos or wool shampoos are also unsuitable, as they usually contain greasing components and the silk loses its shine as a result. A teaspoon of vinegar (wine vinegar) cares for the silk after washing. When the silk appears dull simply add a dash of vinegar to the cold water and rinse the blanket with it.
Normally, the washing temperature of silk is 30° C. In case of heavy soiling, however, it can also be washed at 60° C.
Soak the silk baby blanket for 3-5 minutes and wash carefully. Do not spin or wring in the washing machine afterwards, as wet silk is very sensitive.
Wash the silk baby blanket in a very gentle washing cycle in a laundry bag without spinning.
Dry while lying down. You can put the silk baby blanket on a towel, roll it up and carefully squeeze it out. Then unwind and dry lying down. Do not place on the heater or in direct sunlight.
If necessary, iron silk from the left side in a humid state at low heat.
Wash with similar colours. Do not dry in a tumble dryer. Do not bleach.
